Message “Stickiness”

You know…you never can tell which messages will “stick.” I’m reading Malcolm Gladwell’s The Tipping Point now – he discusses “social epidemics” using alterations of the traditional epidemiologic concepts of agent, host and environment. He uses “stickiness” to describe the attribute of a message to diffuse more easily. I wonder what made these physical fitness messages stand out in the ocean of spam that the subjects likely received.
