Installing MT

So…installed MT – the free version. Seemed to me that the free version of MT was just more useful than the pay version of Radio – I didn’t have to be at my own computer to use all the features. Plus I wanted something that resided only on my own server and wasn’t mirrored to my server from Radio’s servers…
anyway – BMChosting.com (my web host) was VERY HELPFUL in setting things up for me (Shameless plug for these guys – always helpful and responsive…and NO condescension). I had to ask them how PERL was configured and to set up a MySQL database for me – both of which were done within 24 hours on a weekend. The tricky stuff was figuring out how to configure the CGI files in MT for my host (a Windows-based server) – the documentation is kind of scanty and incomplete, but after some trial and error and persistence I did it. Anyone that’s having trouble with configuring MT on a Windows server is welcome to email me a question – I’m no expert, but I’ve lived through it once!
